Coaching: How it Works

My approach aims to build a lifestyle that fosters balance and sustainability in the outdoors – helping you connect more deeply with nature, yourself, and those you share it with. We will work to have days dedicated to mindfulness, outdoor learning, and skill development. This is built on a concierge basis and customized around your work commitments and personal needs.

We will develop experiences that focus on the “why” behind the decisions that we make for success in the outdoors. Learning the why behind selecting a particular fly, directing a bird dog, or picking a line to ski is what leads to entering these environments with confidence.

Let’s paint a picture of what you want to achieve – whether that is a blend of outdoor pursuits or business support – and describe what your ideal outdoor lifestyle looks like:

  • Getting more out of time spent at your cottage with year-round outdoor activities

  • Focusing on trout fishing and gaining support for family business challenges

  • Learning fly fishing, hunting, and adventure travel as a family, creating shared experiences

  • Building confidence to take family or clients on outdoor experiences

  • Facilitating meetings with your executive team through outdoor pursuits

Session Structure

Each coaching session will be tailored to your interests and will focus on strategy and your current needs. Before each session, we will have a check-in call to determine the focus-whether a relaxed session after heavy travel is needed, or a very technical, remote experience.

Cadence

A program can be structured or as flexible as needed to fit your schedule. You may want to meet monthly, an overnight every other month, or two sessions a month from May to August, plus two fall hunting days.

Feedback and Reflection

All sessions will be followed by documented feedback, including an overview of activities, strategies implemented, skills applied, and progress made. Outdoor journals will be maintained to record weather conditions, tactics, successes, setbacks, and key takeaways.This process helps you write your personal outdoor story, and to serve as a reference of how you gained comfort and autonomy in the outdoors.
